Do you have an activation card or did you buy only the box?
Activation (Samsung or LG) is sold with a box or dongle. So if you bought a used box card should already be activated. 
In this case, all you have to do is install the drivers and use the tools.

If you have a box without a card, the only way to work is to buy a dongle with activation.
Because the box is a USB to COM adapter with an additional USB port and a card reader for smart cards.

Installation:

1. Connect the smart card to PC
2. Install Z3X-Card Drivers from folder x:\Program Files\z3x\Card drivers\
3. Install additional drivers (if necessary) from folder x:\Program Files\z3x\Reader drivers\

Activation and registration:

• 4. Run Shell ( Download Shell )
• 5. Click "Settings"
• 6. Click "Hardware Wizard". Wizard will start
• 7. Make all necessary steps from the Wizard

Download main software:

• 8. Click "Support files" from Shell and browse/search for software
• 9. Run downloaded file

Run.

• 10. Choose a model from  the list and click "Run" or run module directly
